MANAGEMENT IN EDUCATION AND ADMINISTRATION

The graduate of the study program Management in Education and Administration is equipped with knowledge and skills enabling effective performance of managerial work, especially in the fields of education and public administration. In the framework of the study, emphasis is placed not only on the acquisition of theoretical knowledge, but also on the ability to work independently with professional and data sources, the ability to deduce and formulate own conclusions and opinions, apply theoretical knowledge to solve individual tasks and the ability to generalize knowledge based on case studies.

Specifically, the graduate is equipped with knowledge, skills and methodological competencies in the areas of management and management, organization economics, marketing, project and strategic management with special emphasis on the specifics of the education and public administration sectors.

Syllabus

In this Management in Education and Administration of the MBA degree program, the student is required to complete a total of five subjects. These include four fixed compulsory thematic modules that are the same for all specializations. Additionally, there is one specialized thematic module. This module provides students the alignment with their specific interests and goals.

Thematic modules

Managerial Competences

The student will acquire the basic theoretical and practical starting points for the performance of managerial functions and also knowledge of methods and techniques of managerial work, both in terms of interpersonal relations and in relation to oneself.

Management Economics

In this study module, attention is paid to the fundamentals of managerial economics, the issue of property and capital structure of a company; costs, revenues and profit; financial management and accounting fundamentals.

Marketing Management

The study module offers a theoretical and methodological basis of the topic of marketing management, with emphasis on the importance of the customer, marketing mix and brand. Students will learn the specifics of marketing research.

Project Management

The student will be able to acquire the knowledge necessary for effective project management, which are further demonstrated in the study module in case studies of specific projects.

Specialized thematic module

Management of Public and Non-Profit Sector

Attention is paid to the specifications of the public and non-profit sector within the system of national economy. On this basis are followed topics of management differences in the public and non-profit sector, specific management methods suitable for management in both sectors and last but not least, case studies from the field of management of the public and non-profit sector are presented.

Graduation conditions

Successful graduation from the program is contingent upon meeting specific conditions. These conditions are interconnected with the completion of study module requirements, as well as the preparation and presentation of an MBA Thesis.

Study module completion

Students must complete all five thematic study modules. Four of these modules are essential components of the Master of Business Administration program, providing a comprehensive foundation of knowledge. The fifth module is individually chosen by each student based on their specialization, preferences, and objectives.

Seminar work

This includes uploading all seminar papers for each study module into the student section and receiving a positive evaluation from the lecturer.

MBA Thesis

As a student, you have the opportunity to prepare your MBA Thesis under the guidance and support of a designated supervisor. The supervisor will provide assistance throughout the thesis preparation process, ensuring that you receive the necessary guidance to develop a comprehensive and well-researched document. The Faculty will carefully assign a supervisor with expertise and knowledge in the specific area of your chosen MBA Thesis topic.
The thesis defense is conducted through the study section. To successfully defend the thesis, student must receive two positive evaluations from the lectors at FVES. Students are required to upload the final thesis in PDF format into the study system.

Faculty staff have been adequately trained and their obligations regarding the personal data of students continue even after the termination of employment or other termination of cooperation.

Students have the right to access the personal data maintained about them. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, students have the right to its rectification, the right to request an explanation and, if necessary, the removal of any defective condition.
